Ho, ho, ho......it is starting to look a lot like the holidays here at my lodge-style home. As you can just imagine, I am a decorating fanatic, so when the holidays approach, I am in my glory adding little touches everywhere to my home. I always start early because, frankly, I love having all the decorations around as long as possible. Love this time of year!

After buying some color-coordinated ornaments for the new color scheme in my home at Walmart, the tree got a sprinkling of snow-tipped pinecone ornaments for a final touch. I was able to dig out some fun winter things from my stash and made this little wintry sleigh display on my ottoman.

I made this prim snowman a long time ago. Who knew that he would fit into a lodge home many years later and look fab!

I made this cute display using some of my baskets with Christmas balls in them. I also displayed a bunch of my Santa ornaments on a pedestal. Displaying Christmas balls in containers of all kinds is such an easy way to decorate for the holidays, but it gives quite an impact of color.

This is the newest addition to my fun holiday items....my new raspberry red feather tree I got at TJ yesterday. You either love this one or hate it.....I happen to adore it. Here it is sitting on a stand in my entry way (you can see that I still need to hang my "Moose Lodge" plaque on the wall. It is heavenly and will probably be all over my house until it finds its "perfect" home.

This prim snowman twig wreath was just hung on my front door. I bought this years ago at our town's "Dickens of a Christmas" festival. He looks so adorable adorning my front door.

This little display sits on an end table in my family room. We have lots of different birds on our property, so I had to have a display with a bird somewhere. Isn't he cute?
As you can see I am in the decorating mode already. Decorating....it just makes me happy! I hope it makes you happy too. I will have another post (Part 2) next week showing more. Thank you so much for visiting me today. :)
PS

Here is a little cup of hot cocoa and whipped cream for you. Enjoy!

Hi, Amy...all looks merry and bright at your cottage.
I start my Christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving. My tree will go up and all 18 of our stockings will be hung by the chimney with care.

Looks beautiful! I think I detect a difference in a cooler climate and warmer climate. Decorating for Christmas here is just not going to happen. It has been in the 70s and I don't want to let it go. Holding on to fall. :)
Oh Amy,
I am sipping my hot cocoa and wakling around admiring everything sweetie. You have done a splendid job.
I love the pinecones, and that is what I want to add to my tree this year. I am using pink and brown in my living room tree and I thought the brown would be the nature I bring in. I am going to have to go to WM. Love that store.
Now that red tree, I am so loving it. I have red in my dining room and kitchen, and that would be so perfect. I would get a clip on dove and add it to the top. Maybe a white one would be elegant as this tree is so classy. L-O-V-E love it.
The little sled is so sweet too by the way. It says Winter for sure. I have been thinking and thinking about starting with my decorating and I thinking you may have just encouraged me to get going. I have been shopping and picking up things. I have to buy 2 new trees this year, one for the living room and one for the family room. I guess I will do some shopping this afternoon.
I'll keep you posted. Woops my hot cocoa is gone. Thanks for sharing today sweetie. I so enjoyed my visit. You are a hostess with the mostess.
Country hugs, Sherry
